LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT OF LEGAL CULTURE AND WAYS OF OVERCOMING CONFLICTS BY YOUTH

This research was conducted with a group of students of the first and third years of study and it was oriented at the diagnostic of the level of development of legal culture according to the scale, which was worked out by the author with the help of academician Alexey Chebykin. At the same time some different methods were applied, such as: the diagnostics of personal pecularities (Kettel P.) and the finding out of the ways of conflict regulation (Thomas K.). The "high" level of legal culture development was defined among 24% of the first-year students and 21% of the third-year students. The "middle" level of legal culture development was defined among 62% of the first-year students and the third-year students as well. The "lower than middle" level of legal culture development was defined among the first-year students - 4% and the third-year students - 7%. The comparison of the results, which were obtained according to the "high" level of law culture development, with the results, which were obtained according to the method of P. Kettell, showed the interaction between the "high" level of legal culture development and the factors A and C. The participants who got high marks according to factor A ("not open-minded and open-mnded") showed open-mindness and kindness, they are sociable and kind to other people. These people work with others succesfully and they are active when they need to solve a problem. The participants who got high marks according to factor C ("emotional instability and emotioanl stability") are characterised as strong, easy-going and having emotional maturity. The investigations performed according to the method of K. Thomas revealed that the participants of the experiment, who showed high level of legal culture development and solved conflict problems, applied the srategy of "cooperation" in most cases. The strategy "compromise" was applied by 21% of the participants with high level of legal culture development when they solved problems. The strategy of "conformation" can suppose that a person has the ability to sacrifice one's own interests for the sake of other people. According to the method of K. Thomas 9 % of people with the high level of legal culture development applied this strategy.
