The difficulties of accuracy and speed reading on second-grade students of Primary Education

摘要
Two tests for pupils entering 2nd year of Spanish Primary schooling -one in Spanish an the other in Galician- were constructed with the purpose of finding out if lack of decoding accuracy and/or decoding automaticity might be one of the causes of detected poor reading comprehension. Data resulting from the use of these tests show significant correlations between the aforementioned variables, in line with results from previous research. They add new evidence pertaining to Galician context.
