A CRITIQUE OF THE CORRESPONDENCE PRINCIPLE IN CRIMINAL-LAW

The so-called ''correspondence'' principle is regarded by many subjectivists as a cornerstone of their theories of criminal liability. Yet it remains largely unanalysed. A brief analysis of the principle suggests both that it has a much more limited scope, and that its special link with subjectivist theory is much more tenuous, than its proponents suppose.
