Understanding September 11: Its impact on tourism?

Undoubtedly, on September 11, 2001 the world stopped when three airplanes carrying civilian passengers crashed against World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This event promptly interrupted all domestic and international flights for some time. Under that context, the present article is aimed at summarizing critically the limitations and contributions that researchers have made in this matter not only from a macro-but also from a micro-sociological perspective, for which the causes and consequences remain unstudied.
