An Analysis of Economies of Scale of Sugar Industry in Thailand

This study analyzes economies of scale of sugar industry in Thailand using financial statement data from 2002 to 2005 of 25 companies. Survivor technique was used in the analysis. The results showed that 15 companies had economies of scale and 10 companies did not have economies of scale. The companies that experienced diseconomies of scale should improve their management, particularly in cost management, and create marketing strategies to increase sale and profitability.
