Nanoscale segregation or precipitation in Fe-Cr alloys

摘要
Nanoscale segregation or precipitation is very meaningful for the mechanical behavior of metals and alloys. Those kinds of structures can not necessarily be analyzed by electron microscopy but by field ion microscope atom probe (FIM-AP). In this investigation, nanoscale segregation or precipitation were observed by FIM-AP in Fe-Cr alloys in which Cr content is below 11 at%. Nanoscale segregation or precipitation was found at surface, grain boundary, lath boundary and in the matrix. The role of crystalline lattice defects will be discussed.
