The secret in internet voting

Internet voting raises some concerns regarding the secrecy of the vote. Given that such internet ballots are cast from unsupervised environments, bribery and blackmail become easier and, if the vote's value is transmitted in conjunction with the ID credentials, it is also obvious that the anonymization might be breached by third parties. The secrecy of the vote is therefore a main challenge for any internet voting project and those countries using this voting channel have developed some solutions that the text analyzes. It also determines whether Mexican authorities have included them. Finally, the paper provides an overview of the still on-going debate of the actual usefulness of the secrecy of the vote. This issue is often forgotten tough it should be the starting point to know how to save the secrecy within internet voting projects.
