ETHICS AND TECHNOLOGICAL RATIONALITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH RAMON QUERALTO

Ramon Queralto stated that technological society is our current circumstance, in the sense of Ortega y Gasset. Information technologies, in particular, represent a major challenge for ethics. To cope it, he proposed a pragmatic ethics which incorporates values such as utility, operational effectiveness and efficiency. This article analyzes the work of Queralto, particularly its main contributions: technological rationality, networked ethics and axiological pluralism. It also proposes the concepts of techno-societies, techno-rationality and techno-ethics, which are prefigured in the work of Prof. Queralto.
