ANALYTIC MODELING OF THE LATE STAGES OF THE EXPLOSION OF SUPERNOVA 1987A IN THE LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD

Hypotheses are formulated that make it possible, by examining gamma-ray. transport in an expanding supernova shell, to write the gamma-ray deposition function in explicit form. Calculations make it possible to obtain the gamma-ray light curve of Supernova 1987A and its bolometric light curve near maximum light. The effect of the explosion energy E, ejected mass M, initial shell radius R0, mass of Ni-56 synthesized during the collapse, and gamma opacity kappa(gamma) of the shell has been investigated for a wide range of these parameters. The results are compared with other calculations and with observational data on Supernova 1987A.
