摘要：
The provision of enhanced stimulating conditions is an essential requirement for the adequate housing of animals. In addition to the presence of a specific stimulus, the variability, and therefore complexity, of stimuli is of considerable importance. Pathological effects result from monotonous and poor conditions, whereas an enriched and variable environment facilitates a healthy mental and behavioural development.
