摘要
A general, critical discussion on the potential and limitations of isotope ratio measurements using electrothermal atomization into a low pressure noble gas atmosphere and resonant Doppler-free two-photon laser enhanced ionization spectroscopy is presented. The ions produced by laser enhanced ionization spectroscopy are detected by a thermionic diode. The rate equations for velocity selective laser excitation of a three level atom are solved. Several effects due to the influences of laser intensity, atomization temperature and collisions are investigated experimentally in different elements (Ca, Sr, Ba, Eu, Pb and Li). In order to discuss the analytical figures of merit of spectroscopic isotope and isotope ratio measurements, we present experimental results obtained with lead and calcium. © 1990.
