NIR-FT-RAMAN SPECTRA OF SOME COBALT(III) AMMINE COMPLEXES

NIR-Raman spectra of [Co(NH3)5H2O)]Cl3, [Co(NH3)5OH]Cl2, [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2 and [Co(NH3)4(H2O)2]2-(SO4)3 are reported. Thermal decomposition was observed for the aquo complexes even using very low laser power. This decomposition is connected with the loss of H2O. Preliminary assignment of some metal ligand vibrations are proposed.
