A stopped-flow inductive kinetic spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous determination of iron and antimony was proposed. The principle of determination was discussed, and a procedure for simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Sb (III) was established based on the inductive effect of them on the chromium(VI)-iodide redox reaction. The calibration graphs were linear for 0 approximately 1.2mug.mL-1 Fe(II) and 0 approximately 2.0mug.mL-1 Sb(III) respectively, and the detection limits were 0.012mug.mL-1 Fe(II) and 0.014mug.mL-1 Sb (III). The method was used for the determination of iron and antimony in zinc metal standard and a simulated sample, and the results are satisfactory.
