THE INCURABLE CHRONIC-PATIENT AND HIS CARE BY THE FAMILY PHYSICIAN

Scientific, technological advances and changes in our society ask for new structures in our future health politics and a broad consensus among the representatives in our socio-medical institutions. High quality medical care for our cancer patients must be available ''at home'' or in an out-patient setting, to avoid unnecessary psychosocial burdens. This can only be achieved by close cooperation between family physician, medical oncologist and the clinical center.
