COUPLED VIBRATIONS OF A CAVITY FILLED WITH A PULSATING FLUID IN ELASTIC INFINITE MEDIA BY THE BOUNDARY-ELEMENT METHOD

Dynamic coupling in fluid and elastic solids in the three-dimensional case is studied by means of the boundary element method. From a practical point of view, the problem of a cavity filled with a pulsating fluid in an elastic infinite medium is useful for the identification of parameters in petroleum bores, hydrology, geothermal in hot dry rock, etc. We use the weighted residual method for the pression formulation in fluids and displacement in elastic solids in order to determine the boundary integral equation in the spatial domain. Finally, we obtain the transfer function of a harmonic pulsating source for different cavities shapes in Fourier transform space.
