RESONANT BEHAVIOR IN THE DAVEY-STEWARTSON EQUATION

摘要：
Using a form of solution for the Davev-Stewartson equation obtained from a direct method we look at a class of solutions intermediate between the plane-wave soliton and the dromion. The hybrid solution is localised in every direction bar one. It resembles a plane-wave soliton that has been truncated so that it tends to a non-zero value in only one direction. This "falling off" or decaying modification of the soliton has led us to call these solutions "solitoffs".
