STUDIES ON THE REMOVAL OF FIRMLY INCRUSTED DEPOSITS IN MILK HEATERS USING MULTISTAGE CLEANING

Using a computer-controlled experimental plant studies on the removal of firmly incrusted deposits of milk components were performed using a multi-stage process. The process of test soil removal was followed by means of a video camera and represented, after read in of the images on a PC, as a function of time. Graphic evaluation of the deposit removal curves thus obtained has allowed the efficiency of the process to be defined and with it the effectiveness of different acids used in practice (nitric-, phosphoric-, citric- and formic acid) to be determined as a function of the concentration used.
