摘要
Background. The infantile cerebral palsy is not an uniform disease entity but it reveals as complex of symptoms. In children with symptoms of cerebral palsy, paresis of limbs of varied degree and different placement is stated, as well as unwitting movements, movements incoherence and balance disorders due to brain damage before the brain's development is completed. Objectives. The purpose of this study was to examine the epidemiology of the infantile cerebral palsy in children aged 0-18 years. Material and methods. 636 children with cerebral palsy were accepted to the research. Medical documentation a history of a patient's illness - was an object used for conducting research. Gathered information about every patient was developed and used for the analysis of own research. Forms of the cerebral palsy, the child's age and domicile were explored. Results. Among 1045 patients admitted to the ward for the first time, the infantile cerebral palsy was observed in 61% of children. The majority of cerebral palsy was diagnosed in boys. Among the examined types of palsy the most often was the spastic form. 71% of the examined children were town citizens. The education of parents did not have an influence on the disease. Conclusions. The analysis of the gathered materials and conducted research clearly states that the cerebral palsy morbidity is not falling down. The majority of spastic forms supports the child's rehabilitation. A reducing number of quadriparesis paralyse cases denotes a better medical care.
