摘要
The formation of the muonium (Mu = mu(+)e(-)) atom in solid nitrogen via convergence of thermalized positive muons (mu(+)) and electrons has been studied using the technique of muon spin rotation. Both the magnetic and electric field dependences of the muonium and diamagnetic signal amplitudes demonstrate an enormous difference in electron transport in alpha and beta phases of solid nitrogen. Electron drift mobilities in these phases have been shown to differ by about five orders of magnitude, probably owing to the orientational nature of the phase transition in solid nitrogen.
