摘要
Childhood obesity had seen observed since the beginning of the 90s by the escalation that has occurred at epidemic. The increase in the prevalence of obesity in children is worrying because of the increased risk of these children become obese adults and develops the co morbidities associated with major weight gain. Environmental factors are been as more responsible for the growth of obesity. Comparing the prevalence of overweight and obese children in private and public schools, has seen a greater number of individuals in institutions. This draws the attention of everyone in some way may contribute to the statistics of the growth of this disease is changed or at least stagnant. This review will compare the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children from public and private schools from different regions of Brazil. Methods: A review of the literature published in major journals of the country since the year 1995 so far. We can conclude that comparing the two institutions, the prevalence of over mass and obesity in private schools is greater than in public schools. This causes stress the utmost importance of focus of attention in the control and prevention in private schools.
