RETURN HOME TO HUANDACAREO, MICHOACAN: REMITTANCES, INVESTMENT RETURN AND SOCIAL CHANGE

This article shows that international migration, remittances and migrant investor returns can be key factors in social change in the communities of origin. We come here to the case of Huandacareo, Michoacan, a town on the north- central region of the state with a long tradition of immigration and very high intensity of migration, to reflect on the changes in a community that migration to the United States has exercised a major impact on the social and economic dynamics of the population.
