Methods and conditions for obtaining the frequency factor S (s(-1)) in the case of thermoluminescence (TL) second order kinetics are discussed. The validity of using the condition of maximum intensity in the case of first order kinetics to obtain S in case of second order is checked. Unlike the first order, the evaluation of S in the case of the second order seems to be difficult. However, instead of S, a pre-exponential factor S '' (s(-1)) is inserted, which is a dose dependent parameter. The method for obtaining S '' is developed during the present work. Finally, a simple analytical method is suggested to obtain the relative value of the initial concentration of trapped electrons n(0) (cm(-3)).
