摘要:
A new photogalvanic effect of the viologen cation radical that is formed electrochemically on the surface of an indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated electrode dipped in an aqueous electrolyte is reported. The cation radical of methyl viologen formed on the surface of an ITO electrode gave photogalvanic currents in the presence of oxygen. The action spectrum for the photocurrent corresponds to the absorption of the cation radical. The mechanism is attributed to the reaction of the photoexcited cation radical with oxygen.
