摘要
The main purpose of this research was to identify the impact of knowledge Management in research area of Venezuelan universities, considering Universidad del Zulia 8LUZ) as reference. Some concepts and models for the development of Knowledge Management programs were analyzed and structured, taking into account that Venezuelan universities are systemic organizations where processes of transformation, innovation and renovation are generated, so as to constitute a key factor of evolution toward the information society. Knowledge management, as Morey and cols, 2000 refer allows analyzing, organizing and putting the information into a context of business to convert it in a usable knowledge by the user. Besides, it constitutes a tool that facilitates and promotes intermediation of knowledge which resides in individuals; creating organizational channels and mechanisms to an efficient management of it. Finally, this first document corresponds to a documentary review about knowledge management and current situation at LUZ in order to later deepens and if it is necessary, propose a model that fits institution's culture and needs.
