摘要：

The opposition between Church and Synagogue usually depicted as two female figures-represents the medieval allegorical paradigm of the confrontation between Christianity and Judaism. This pair of figures refers to concepts such as the duality Old Testament and New Testament or the triumph of Christian faith over Jewish faith. In some cases, however, both allegories can be interpreted from a complementary perspective not only as the harmony and continuity between the two Testaments but also as the announcement and fulfillment of Revelation.
