Religion and religious fundamentalism in contemporary times: an analysis from Jungian psychology

In this text, we propose to reflect on the religious fundamentalism in the contemporaneity, from the Jungian psychology. Understanding religion as a psychological/archetypal and symbolic experience, we will analyze whether religious fundamentalism can contribute to the development of the individual leading to the process of individuation or stagnation of the individual. In this way, this work will be divided into three moments: first, we will present Jung's analysis of religion; and then we will identify new forms of religions in the contemporary world; and finally, we will make an analysis of religious fundamentalism from the jungian psychology.
