摘要
This article examines the U.K. knitwear industry and discusses the strategic dilemmas facing managers in a particular, and vulnerable, area with strong international competition. Over the decade up to the mid 1980s many fundamental changes occured but the conventional ideas of stable, generic strategy fail to account for what happened. Through detailed analysis, alternative approaches are described that hold out more promise of a successful response to future challenges in the market. © 1991.
