Seroprevalence of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and Syphilis in Blood Donors in Tokat

摘要：
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the seroprevalence of HBV, HCV, HIV and syphilis in blood donors in our region and also to compare the seropositivity rates between the periods of 2003-2006 and 2007-2010. Materials and Methods: A total of 15696 blood donors were included in the study. HBsAg, anti-HCV antibody and anti-HIV1/2 antibody levels were determined by Microparticle Enzyme Immunoassay (MEIA) method. Syphilis was screened by Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) test. Results: The seropositivity rates of HBsAg, anti-HCV, antibody and RPR were found as 1.29%, 0.16%, and 0.02%, respectively. None of the donors tested positive for anti-HIV1/2 antibody. There was no statistically significant difference between two study periods. Conclusion: The results of the present study are similar to other reports from our country.
