Music education in schools and the area of European Higher Education

This article reflects the importance of music education in the integral education of school children and the achievements that with the LOGSE were supposed in the creation of the Specialist Teacher in Music Education. At the same time it wishes to draw attention to the proposal of the Red de Magisterio in thier final report on "Adecuacion de la Titulaciones de Maestro al Espacio Europeo de Educacion Superior" (Adaptation of Primary Teachers Qualifications to the European Area of Higher Education) backing the elimination of the existing specialities and proposals for just two qualifications: Infant Education and Primary Education.
