摘要
This study had the aim to investigate the aspects related to job stress of physical therapists for a charity hospital in Belo Horizonte-MG. We conducted a field research, descriptive and explanatory, with quantitative and qualitative approach, based on the theoretical model of occupational stress proposed by Zille (2005). 38 professionals participated in the study, with data collected with a questionnaire and structured interviews. At the end of work could be concluded that 76.3% of those surveyed were under occupational stress and 60.5% with mild to moderate stress and 15.8% with severe stress. The main sources of excessive stress experienced at work were the constant need of adjustment in the activities performed and the performance of different activities simultaneously. As for symptoms of stress stood out fatigue and pain in the neck muscles and shoulders. Regarding the main strategies used like regulatory mechanisms of stress became evident the possibility to enjoy regular vacations and practice of physical exercises regularly.
