SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF MU-TETRABUTYLADIPAMIDE LANTHANIUM(III) BINUCLEAR COMPLEX LA-2-MU-[BU(2)NCO(CH2)(4)CONBU(2)][BU(2)NCO(CH2)(4)CONBU(2)](2)(NO3)(6)

The complex La-2 mu-[Bu(2)NCO(CH2)(4)CONBu(2)][Bu(2)NCO(CH2)(4)CONBu(2)](2)(NO3)( )6 has been synthesized. The crystal structure of title complex was established by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study and described as follows: triclinic space group P ($) over bar 1, a = 1.4693(2), b = 1.5882(3), c = 1.9916(4)nm, alpha = 90.92(2), beta = 92.93(1), gamma = 103.73(1)degrees, V = 4.507(1)nm(3), D-c = 1.29g . cm(-3), Final R value is 0.0738. This complex has binuclear molecule with three organic ligand molecules. Two carbonyls of one organic ligand join two La (III), in addition each La(III) is coordinated through two carbonyls of one organic ligand, six nitrates are all bidentate ligands. Each La(III) is coordinated by nine oxygen atoms which form a distorted tricapped trigonal prism.
