摘要
The ligands, N-acylurea, N-acylthiourea and their Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes of the general formula ML(2)X(2).nH(2)O [M = Ni(II) or Co(II), L = N-acylurea or N-acylthiourea, X = Cl and n = 6] have beep prepared and characterized by melting point, magnetic susceptibility, elemental analyses, infrared and electronic spectral studies. Based on the magnetic and spectral data, a tetrahedral structure has been suggested for the metal complexes. The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and the complexes have been evaluated and compared to those of analogues from sulphathiazole.
