CLIMATE TARGET "BELOW 2 degrees C" IN THE NEWS PAPER EL PAIS

International community has agreed the target of limiting the increase in global average temperature below 2 degrees C above pre-industrial levels. Politically, this target parts of a consensus conclusion by the scientific community as threshold between safety and catastrophe, while the scientific field perceives that this objective is a political decision that carries a high risk of impact on some parameters (some authors argue that the risk is very high). In this research we study the climate objective "below 2 degrees C" in the newspaper El Pais. Despite being the recognized expression in international agreements, it is little used, replaced by "2 degrees C". This confusion is present in policy statements and informations of the media.
