A flow-injection spectrophotometric determination of hyrcanoside based on the well-known reaction with picric acid in alkaline media using spectrophotometric detection at 486 nm is described. The calibration graph is rectilinear from 10-400 mg.l-1 hyrcanoside (r = 0.9997) with a relative standard deviation of 1.6% for the ten injections. The sampling rate was about 60.h-1 and the overall dispersion of the system was D = 5.7. This method was utilized for the content uniformity testing of experimentally prepared tablets of hyrcanoside.
