VERSION CONTROL VIA TEMPORAL ANNOTATIONS FOR EXPLORATORY SOFTWARE-DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT

摘要
The paper summarizes some research in exploratory software development. It is argued that heuristic search can be used as a model for exploratory software development, and that this amounts to a flexible form of fine-grained version control. A new method of supporting software version control, which uses temporal annotations on objects in a project knowledge base, has been developed. A prototype implementation and a sample of the behaviour obtained are presented. The work is related to temporal database management, conventional version control, and undo support models. © 1990.
