摘要：

There have been few attempts to examine empirically the practice of community service (CS) in England and Wales in the late 1980s. This study, based on the examination and comparison of CS in two areas, attempts to go some way towards filling this gap. It is concluded that the model of CS that is increasingly emergent is 'juridical' in character. © 1990 The Institute for the Study and Treatment of Delinquency.
