摘要
The principal objective of our work was experimental determination of the separation efficiency of a mechanical thin-layer evaporator. The measurements were carried out on the methyl alcohol-water system and on the water-ethylene glycol system. The experimental results were compared with corresponding calculated data characterizing simple batch distillation. Within the range of spread of independent variables, good agreement was found between experimental and calculated results. For all measurements the mean deviation amounted to 2.48% and the maximum deviation was 7.94%. Good agreement between the experimental and theoretical data is evidence that in thin-layer evaporators there is no rectification effect, despite of countercurrent flow of vapour and liquid phases through the evaporator. © 1990.
