摘要：
Since its creation in the Neolithic Period, the city has been the essential vehicle for Mankind's presence and occupation of Earth. Its historical evolution has undergone different urban models: pre-industrial, industrial, post-industrial or post Fordist. Nowadays it is in a period of changes, from the recovery of the "urban centre" and the "old historical centres" to the development of "suburbanisation" and "metropolitanization" and towards the so-called "dispersed city". It could be that the purpose of such a long and changing history is to search for an utopic? "habitable city" and for a "sustainable" Earth.
