摘要
A successful fish culture relies on constant good water quality of the systems. Ammonia and nitrite are particularly important in recirculation systems where the biofiltration plays a singular role on the transformation of harmful forms of N-2 into the less toxic nitrate. Inadequate biofiltration leads to an accumulation of toxic ammonia causing deleterious consequences to the fish such as nitrite toxicose. This paper reports the occurrence of the brown blood diseases in tilapia fingerlings reared in recirculation system.
