摘要：
Recent developments in comparative ophthalmology include the use of new diagnostic aids, such as computed tomography, to assist in the differential diagnosis of acute visual loss. The development of new modalities in the treatment of anterior segment ocular disease includes the use of collagen corneal bandage lenses and topical cyclosporine in keratoconjunctivitis sicca. Advances in microsurgery and implantation of intraocular lenses have improved the results achieved in cataract surgery. Research into the inherited retinal degenerative diseases of dogs has allowed classification of these diseases based on electrophysiologic and pathophysiologic abnormalities.
