摘要
Smoke emission and burning behaviour of glass-reinforced polyester laminates comprising halogenated unsaturated polyester resins (containing chlorine and bromine incorporated into molecular chains) and of some selected halogen-free unsaturated polyester resins has been investigated. The effect of modifying these resins by the addition of Al, Mo, Mg, Zn and Sn oxides and hydroxides was determined. The stannates ZnSnO3 and ZnSn(OH)(6) were found to be the most efficient flame retardants and smoke suppressants, especially when used in halogenated polyester resins. Polyester laminates with these additives meet the fire-safety and smoke-emission requirements for materials used in rolling stock construction, exploitation and maintenance.
