HIGH-PRESSURE SYNTHESIS OF MG-AL-SI-O-N OXYNITRIDE GLASSES

摘要：

Oxynitride glasses in the MgAlSiON system were synthesized at elevated temperatures under high argon over-pressures. The over-pressures effectively maintained the glasses at the desired compositions, allowing complete retention of the nitrogen. Glass properties, e.g. density, hardness, elastic moduli, and fracture toughness, exhibited a linear dependence on nitrogen content. © 1990.
