Model-Driven Architecture

In software development is essential to enhance the reuse of software components in order to facilitate the work of the various roles involved in the process. Model Driven Architecture (MDA) describes or proposes a development process based on model transformation. The principles which underpin MDA are the abstraction, automation and standardization. "The central process of MDA is the transformation of models that starts from the Computer Independent Model (CIM) to Platform Specific Models (PSM), to models that describes a Platform Independent Model (PIM)." To understand the role of models in the software development process, this paper describes the operation, standards and processing methods proposed by MDA.
