摘要
The different civilizations which have followed on from each other in the Mediterranean coast have left in the protected coastal areas a cultural patrimony, which coexists alongside the natural values that favoured its preservation. In the San Pedro del Pinatar Saltworks Nature Reserve, the inventory of the most striking cultural, historical, architectural and archeological goods carried out for this research lays bare that, except for the two windmills which used to bring up water to the saltworks until the 1950s and a 16th-century house associated with a traditional exploitation of fisheries, all the relevant cultural goods are derelict and damaged. The proper recovery of this patrimony would represent added value to its natural and landscaping wealth, which could reinforce its identity and foster social cohesion, as well as boost the current sources of economic and social development for the population of its surroundings.
