Statistical analysis of annual maximum daily rainfall of Uberaba city and annual minimum daily flow of the Uberaba River

摘要
The knowledge of the precipitation behavior of a region and water course flow is important to predict drought periods, flood, and provides data for the design of hydraulic works, both at agricultural and urban zones. This work had as objective the statistical study of annual maximum daily rainfall of Uberaba city and the annual minimum daily flow of Uberaba River in order to identify a statistical distribution that best describes each attribute. The annual maximum daily rainfall and daily minimum annual flow of the Uberaba city (MG) and Uberaba River historical series were obtained from the database HIDROWEB, managed by the Agencia Nacional das Aguas. By Qui-Square test, the Gumbel distribution better represented the data of daily maximum rainfall annually, while the log-Normal 2 parameters model best represented the data of annual minimum daily flow.
