摘要
The Brent field consists of two separate reservoirs and multiple pressure zones with variable PVT fluid properties and condensate-rich gas caps. The reservoirs are being developed simultaneously with common facilities, presenting many reservoir engineering challenges that cannot be met with classic tools alone. Reservoir simulation has been an integral and essential part of reservoir studies and depletion planning. Increasingly sophisticated models were developed as the tools became available and the reservoir description matured. This paper describes the third-generation, 3D model, characterized by detailed geologic description, extensive use of pseudos to reflect reservoir complexity, and an intricate well-management/platform-processing program. The studies performed with this model confirmed the viability of the base development plan while also quantifying the benefits of alternative development schemes.
