摘要：
This article approaches the abortion rights as a human rights demand. It is important to understand how this theme has been debated in Brazil and in other important countries of Latin America, where there are the most restricted laws and the biggest rates of maternal mortality by the unsafe abortions. It will also help us to understand the influence of the Church in the politics of Latin America.
