摘要
This paper presents the findings of a laboratory investigation in which the roles of chloride ions and sulfate ions on reinforcing steel corrosion has been studied. Low carbon steel specimens were embedded in the concrete made of either type I or type V portland cement, and the corrosion rate was determined by AC impedance technique. Experimental evidences indicated that the effects of chloride ions and sulfate ions on the electrochemical properties and corrosion mechanisms of reinforcing steels were quite different, and the polymer impregnation treatment would increase the concrete resistivity. © 1990.
