Dialectic of Significance and Dialectic of Power in the Political Thought of Cornelius Castoriadis

We start treating the dialectic between power and meaning, that is, showing which are the relations between constitute sense, give significance, grant validity, and the power. How this relationship involved from the genesis of the social subject, how it will give the movement word and power to the extent that since the various stages of formation of the psyche is going forging a subject "adapted" to function in a social environment. We continue thematizing what kind of subjectivity could call into question the social imaginary significations instituted in a particular social constellation and what the relationship of this subjectivity which we call "reflective and deliberative subjectivity" with the proposed autonomous society posed by Castoriadis, and with the political realization of this project in the democratic regime. We finish showing in what sense democracy as a system, proposed by Castoriadis, constitutes a critical theory of society.
