摘要
A special mathematical model is used to calculate the accumulation of HNO2 in 3 and 6 M HNO3 with and without Pu using refined radiation-chemical yields for e(aq)-, NO2, OH, and H2O2. The yield of HNO2 and its instantaneous concentrations are practically the same with and without Pu. However, the kinetics of HNO2 accumulation in the latter instance are idiosyncratic. The influence of various factors on HNO2 accumulation is examined. Comparison of the calculated and experimental [HNO2] gives the rate constant of its thermal decomposition.
